I have big, huge, large, enormous news. I am now a staff writer over at The Drop. The Drop is a nationally known blog/podcast created by Dan Portnoy. I will be contributing there regularly… keeping everyone informed on my favorite bands along with "everything music". So if you want to hear my opinion on music and get exclusive news, then you should head on over to The Drop. Did I mention the podcast. Yes, Dan hosts the incredible podcast getting exclusive interviews from celebrities and bands. You’re always sure to hear some humorous conversations with elevant content. So please help us make The Drop a success. Check it out every day for new content, subscribe to the podcast, and tell your friends. Also, don’t hesitate to give me your input on what we should be doing over there.

As for (the) feelgooddrag, I will mostly be maintaining this site as more of a personal blog… letting you know what’s going on in my life and letting you in on some funny things I find on the web. I am very excited about this opportunity I have been given and I hope you are too.

always straight ahead.

best week ever
who had best week ever? well… mine was pretty good. let me recap.

Friday - June 30th
I walk into my local record shop, Volume, to find a couple of copies of Sufjan Stevens‘ new album of b-sides and outtakes… "The Avalanche". Somehow they got a few copies early and I was one of the first to purchase it.

Saturday - July 1st
I receive a free steak dinner with Blake’s family in honor of his 21st birthday (which was on the 26th of June).
Later that night I bowl with Blakeness, Casey, and Collis. I bowl a personal best game of 204 and receive a coupon for one free game.
Following bowling we are given 2 large pizzas and a 4-pack of fried dough from Cal’z… for free.
Then poker and cigars.

Sunday - July 2nd
Blake, Collis, and I see Click and Superman Returns back to back. I enjoyed both movies.

Monday - July 3rd
I worked.

Tuesday - July 4th
I sleep in then proceed to hang out with Casey and Collis as I enjoy my day off.

Wednesday-Friday - July 5th-July 7th
I work again and at some point my mom buys a 12 pack of peach fresca.

Saturday - July 8th
I see the Subways*Head Automatica*Angels and Airwaves*Taking Back Sunday for free. Collis and Mandi attend the show as well. It is a phenomenal show with great bands and amazing backdrops and stage accoutrements. [I would post a full review but I am lazy.]

so there you have it. one of the best weeks of my life. well… 8 days really.

EISLEY is now in the beginning stages of recording their 2nd LP. I’ve heard a few of the songs that they have written so far and they are nothing short of amazing. I mean, I have no doubts in my mind that they will release the best album of the year (which I would assume would be next year… maybe around february) and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s my favorite album ever. That’s what Eisley does… make my favorite brand of music. So they’ve decided on a producer, already written a ton of songs, recuperated from headlining and overseas tours, and matured a bit since their last record. Boyd, who happens to be their Dad & Uncle/manager/media guru/biggest fan, is keeping the world informed of their progress and will be the first to let us know any details of the record.

also, be on the lookout for their brand new video for the song "memories". It is my favorite track of theirs and from what I hear the video will be quite stellar. So if you want to keep tabs on my favorite band just click the banner below.
